PEGI (Pan European Game Information) has rated an Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2 version in Europe, seemingly confirming the latest in the long-running series is coming to Nintendo’s upcoming console.
There is currently no official Switch 2 version confirmed by Ubisoft, but these ratings are usually the first sign of an upcoming announcement. So far, this is only on the PEGI rating homepage.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2 Version Arriving in 2025?

It seemed pretty likely we’ll get an Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2 version, even before this rating. Recently, Ubisoft announced that we’d be getting Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2, with a September 4, 2025, release, so it’s clear the publisher and developer will be supporting the system.
Set in feudal Japan, Assassin’s Creed Shadows sees players take on the dual roles of Naoe, a shinobi Assassin and Yasuke, a legendary samurai. While Naoe is stealthy, and uses her skills to evade enemies and take them by surprise when needed, Yasuke is all about power and lethal precision that intimidates foes.
Despite multiple delays and online vitriol, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has proved to be a critical and commerical hit. Metacritic’s PS5 review average is currently 81/100, based on 96 reviews, with 85 on Xbox, based on 22 reviews, and 79 on PC, based on 55 reviews.
It surpassed a million players on launch day and had three million in its first week. Impressive numbers for a single player game. It’s currently the second-best-selling game in the US in 2025. It only lags behind the juggernaut that is Monster Hunter Wilds.
On Steam, it has outsripped Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s all-time concurrent player count of 62,069 with a series high of 64,825.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
