The classic PlayStation RPG Breath of Fire IV has been released for PC thanks to Capcom and GOG.com.
Voters in the GOG Dreamlist, a feature where GOG users vote for older games to be added to the store, have been credited as the main reason for the release. A whopping 23,038 users voted for Breath of Fire IV to get a PC release, and now we can all enjoy the fruits of their labor and tuck into the turn-based RPG from 2000.
The release includes some fixes and quality-of-life improvements, such as new rendering options, refined mouse and keyboard support, enhanced minigames, restored audio, and full support for modern controllers.

Breath of Fire IV Comes in Hot for PC Return
The story of Breath of Fire IV takes place after centuries of war, where the two lands bordering an impenetrable swampland have finally reached an armistice. Mysteriously, the noble Princess Elena disappears somewhere near the war-ravaged front lines. Distraught, her sister Nina goes in search of the Princess alone and, on her journey, meets a mysterious young warrior named Ryu. Their destinies soon entwine. The next chapter in the epic tale of magic and mystery now unfolds. The fate of what lies ahead rests in your control.
When Breath of Fire IV was initially released on PlayStation in 200, it was one of the last big RPGs on that console, and was well received by players and critics alike despite being in the shadow of Final Fantasy IX. The game went on to get a limited PC release in 2003.
Breath of Fire is available DRM-free for £8.99/$9.99 on GOG.com.
