Chrono Odyssey is an upcoming Soulslike MMORPG where you get to select a class of your own and build them to earn the power of the Gods and defeat some really powerful bosses. However, the first part of that process is selecting a class, and that can be the hard part.
The class that you want to pick will depend on you as a player and what kind of playstyle you prefer in the long run. As such, here’s a list of all the playable classes that you can choose and play with in the game.
Every Playable class in Chrono Odyssey

At present, there are a total of six playable classes in Chrono Odyssey, namely Sorcerer, Assassin, Berserker, Paladin, Ranger, and Swordsman. Here’s a detailed discussion on what each class can do in the game.
- Sorcerer: This is the standard magic class in the game, where you use arcane power to both destroy enemies as well as support your allies. The Sorcerer can use the Staff, Manasphere, and the Grimoire. Among these, the Staff is used to channel spells, Manasphere can be used to expose enemy weaknesses, and Grimoire can be used to heal your allies. Sorcerer is also dependent on mana to channel the spells.
- Assassin: The Assassin is a stealth class in the game that relies on high damage through critical attacks. This class can use the Sabre, Wrist Blades, and the Musket. Among these, both the Sabre and Wrist Blades can be used to deliver precise damage even in the most chaotic battlefield. The Musket, on the other hand, can be used to deal damage from a distance. Assassins rely on drawing upon Vigor and darkness to enhance the power of their attacks.
- Berserker: The Berserker class is all about strength and fury, where you use your unstoppable might to dominate foes on the battlefield. This class comes with proficiency in Chain Blades, Twin Axes, and Battle Axe. Among these, Chain Blades can be used to pull enemies, Twin Axes can be used to land powerful blows, while Battle Axe can be used to defend your allies. The more the bloodshed, the stronger the Berserker becomes.
- Paladin: Paladins are the closest to the Gods as they use divine power to both protect allies and vanquish enemies. This class is proficient in three kinds of weapons, namely, the Lance, Halberd, and Mace. Among these, the Lance can be used to deflect enemy attacks, Mace can be used to heal, and the Halberd can be used to cleave through enemy defenses.
- Ranger: The Ranger is an adept marksman, where they can vanquish foes from a distance, but also ensure that they are prepared for close-distance encounters. This class is proficient in three kinds of weapons, namely, Bow, Crossbow, and Rapier. Both the Bow and the Crossbow are meant for precise and lethal strikes that deal devastating blows to enemies.
- Swordsman: This is arguably one of the simplest classes to play in the game with a focus on Greatsword, Sword and Shield, and Dual Blades. This class boasts both offense and defense and is ideal for players who don’t want too much complication on the battlefield. Among these, the Greatsword can demolish enemies very quickly, the Dual Blades are meant for fast and precise attacks, and the Sword and Shield provide a balanced gameplay.
These are currently the classes you have available, but there might be more when the game officially launches in the future. The current closed playtest, however, only has the Ranger, Barbarian & Swordsman available.
In Chrono Odyssey, the “Chronotector” is an artifact that allows players to stop time around monsters or rewind a character’s time, enabling more dynamic combat. You can explore past generations of the open world before environmental and historical events made sweeping changes to the land of Chrono Odyssey.
