Augur is one of the eight Nightlords that you’ll face in Elden Ring Nightreign during your journey through Limveld. This boss is quite interesting, as it isn’t all that tough, but rather troublesome to deal with due to its moveset.

Additionally, the boss flies around, so melee characters will have a hard time fighting it. Here’s a detailed guide on everything that you can do, which will make the Augur fight seamless, and you’ll be able to add it to your achievement lists of all the defeated Nightlords in the game.

Augur Movelist In Elden Ring Nightreign

Ironeye fighting Augur in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Here is a detailed movelist of everything that you can expect while fighting Augur in Elden Ring Nightreign:

    Move ListDescriptionHow To Counter
Water SplashAugur will throw two waves of water towards the player, which, if hit, will deal damage. The waves are small and travel slowly. If you’re cautious, you can either run away from the area of influence or dodge sideways. You can also roll forward through it.
DashAugur will power itself up and dash at the player, dealing damage to everything in its path. This move is also pretty telegraphed, and you can dodge sideways to get out of the area of influence.
Cyclone BlastThe boss will release a blast of wind around itself within a small area, dealing damage to anyone caught within it. You can simply run backwards, and you’ll be safe from its area of influence.
SleepAugur will get down on the ground and put all the players to sleep. Once the sleep meter is full, it will also deal damage. If you have sleep resistance, it can work, but the best way to counter it is to attack the boss and try to stun it.
TentaclesThe entire field will have tentacular objects coming out of the ground. These objects are stationary, but they will damage the player if you get close to them. You can destroy these tentacles, but they aren’t too big of a threat. Staying away from them is the easiest way to deal with them.
Bomb SwarmThe boss will create bombs around itself, which will follow the player and explodeThese bombs can easily be dodged as once they are about to explode, they stop moving. Otherwise, hitting them once can destroy them as well.
Teardrop NukeAugur will rise up in the sky and release a Teardrop. This will fall slowly towards the ground. Once it hits the surface, the Teardrop will explode and kill anyone in the vicinity. The Teardrop falls very slowly and can be destroyed before it touches the surface. As soon as you see the boss rising upwards, you know the Teardrop is coming. Target the Teardrop and hit it until it gets destroyed.

How To Beat Augur In Elden Ring Nightreign

Augur using sleep on players in Elden Ring Nightreign

Defeating Augur comes down to how well you prepare during the first two days, especially with collecting the right items for the fight.

This boss is weak to Lightning, so anything that provides the same will be crucial for the fight. Lightning pretty much stops the boss from launching its moves, stuns it during the Sleep move, and makes it easy to break the Teardrop.

Apart from that, collect as many healing flasks as possible from the Churches, and if possible, pick up a Legendary weapon. If you don’t have one, completing one of the events, such as Shifting Earth- Crater, will allow you to level up even your basic weapon to Legendary.

Once the fight begins, keep attacking the boss with your ranged weapons and dodge the moves as mentioned in the previous section. Always keep an eye on the Cyclone and Teardrop Nuke moves.

This is because the Cyclone eats away your flasks very quickly if you get caught within its range. As for the Teardrop attack, while in the initial stages, the boss drops only one of those, later on, as soon as you destroy it, the boss will drop a second one.

Never let your sights away from Augur, and you’ll be able to take down the boss very quickly. As a final note, bring ranged characters as much as possible, since its difficult to attack Augur as a melee unit.

Recommended Characters Against Augur In Elden Ring Nightreign

Ironeye is one of the recommended characters against Augur

Here are the characters that we ran to defeat Augur in our first attempt:

    • Ironeye
    • Recluse

Ironeye was a valuable pick in our run, with two of us running it since it was the easiest way to deal consistent damage to the boss. With Ironeye, we were able to dodge most of the attacks with our Skill and also put a Weakness mark on Augur.

Additionally, with Ironeye, we were also able to break the Teardrop very easily, way before it even crossed midway from its initial position. This made sure that Augur was never able to launch a nuke.

As for the Recluse, the third player in our team was running this class. They also focused on dealing ranged damage, and also marked the boss with their Ultimate ability, which massively increased our damage output.

Since Ironeye has the ability to dodge through attacks, it was we who focused on keeping the boss’s gaze. The Recluse primarily focused on dealing damage from the back while staying in the relative safety of neutral zones.

If one of us got overwhelmed, we would simply dash backwards and let the other person pick up the gaze for a while.

    Recommended Build For Augur

While most of the drops are random, here’s what I picked up and what you should be looking for, to make the run easier:

    SpecificationsMy BuildRecommended For You
    Character Level14Ideally above 10
WeaponStarting Ironeye Bow with Lightning InfusionAny weapon you can find that comes with Lightning Infusion
Relics and TalismanBoost Lightning Damage, Dodging creates Lightning, Sleep Resistance, Stamina Recovery, HP Recovery Same as the previous column

Since I was running Ironeye, I was lucky to pick up a Relic beforehand, which gave Lightning Infusion to my starting Armament. I also had a second Relic where I received Lightning Damage Boost. I stacked both of them on Ironeye, so I didn’t have to rely on getting lucky with Lightning weapons.

I picked up Smithing Stones from a merchant and one from clearing one of the caves. I was able to upgrade my weapon to Purple status, which made it easy to deal high damage. I also picked up a Sleep Resistance Talisman, which reduced the build-up, thereby providing enough time to stun the boss.

I got lucky with a buff where dodging created Lightning. This way, I dodged in front of Augur, which released Lightning and helped stun the boss very easily. Stamina recovery was necessary since I was dodging a lot.

Increased HP Recovery from flasks is valuable since Ironeye is a bit squishy, and if you pick up any HP boost buff, that can also work quite well.
