Equilibrious Beast, also known as Libra, Creature of the Night, is one of the hardest bosses you will come across in Elden Ring Nightreign. This boss deals a lot of damage, has difficult-to-dodge movesets, and is quite aggressive.
However, if you prepare well during the first two days, you’ll be able to beat the boss in no time. Here’s a detailed guide to Equilibrious Beast, including its movesets, drops, and weaknesses.
Equilibrious Beast Move List In Elden Ring Nightreign

Equilibrious Beast comes with a varied moveset, which you should be aware of before jumping into the fight.
Move List | Description | How To Counter |
---|---|---|
Madness Sigil | The boss will spawn sigils on the ground, which explode after a while and deal damage. | The easiest way to counter it is just dodge out of the sigil the moment it appears underneath you. |
Meditation | Equilibrious Beast will sit down to meditate while being protected by a shield. Additionally, golden mirrors will spawn around the boss. | Breaking the mirrors will break the shield protecting the boss. This will stop the Equilibrious Beast from being enraged and inflict it with madness. |
Staff combo | Occasionally, the boss will rush towards the player while swinging its staff. | Dodge backwards as the boss approaches you while swinging the staff and it will miss everything. |
Madness Lava | The boss will slam the ground and release lava all around itself, inflicting you with Madness. | Run away as soon as you see the boss in the animation, and you will be safe from being hit. |
Enrage | If you fail to break the shield in the meditating state, the boss will get enraged, and its attacks will become even more violent. | Break the shield as quickly as possible in the meditation state. |
Triple Sigils | In the enraged state, Equilibrious Beast will spawn multiple sigils underneath your feet. | Keep dodging until it stops spawning the explosive sigils. |
Madness Bullets | The boss will shoot out a barrage of projectiles towards the players that will inflict you with Madness. | Dodge to the side when this happens, as these projectiles hurt a lot and quickly inflict Madness. |
How To Defeat Libra, Creature of the Night In Elden Ring Nightreign

The Equilibrious Beast can be quite handful, especially if you’re fighting it for the first time. However, there are a number of ways to make the fight easy for yourself.
The boss is weak to Madness, but it’s very hard to find weapons with this ailment. As such, look for anything that deals Fire or Holy damage, as those elements also work decently well against the boss.
Make sure you hit all the churches, as your health will be crucial due to Madness buildup. Once the Madness bar is full, you will take a lot of damage. Most ranged classes will get one-shot, so bringing seven flasks will be crucial.
When the fight begins, keep going through the initial attacks until the meditation phase begins. This is the most important phase, as you must break the mirrors to destroy the shield around the boss. Doing this will stop the Equilibrious Beast from being enraged, and it will focus on basic attacks rather than Madness-inflicted ones.
If the boss gets enraged, it becomes difficult to launch an attack. However, you can still be aggressive, provided one person focuses on keeping the gaze, while the other two players deal damage. The plethora of attacks, as mentioned above, does make this extremely difficult, which is why I strongly recommend that you focus on breaking the shield in the meditation phase.
Additionally, slotting in Relics or picking up Talismans that reduce Madness buildup can also make the fight easier.
Recommended Characters For Equilibrious Beast

Here are the characters that I have found to work best against the Equilibrious Beast:
- Wylder
- Ironeye
- Recluse
Wylder is a very easy character to play and works quite well against this boss, because the chances of finding Madness melee weapons are relatively higher. Additionally, you can equip a Madness Seal, which works very well against Equilibrious Beast.
Ironeye is also very good, as you can deal damage from a distance and use your Skill to dodge attacks from the boss. Recluse is a bit on the squishy side, but your damage output is very high on this character, and as long as you have someone to tank on your team, you’ll take down the boss in no time.
One of the issues you might face with Ironeye is that there aren’t any bows that have Madness inflection. As such, look for Fire or Holy as those are the next best elements for the boss.
Recommended Build For Equilibrious Beast
Almost everything you receive in Elden Ring Nightreign is temporary and random. However, here’s what you should be looking for in your build to make the fight easier:
Character Level | 13 and above (ideally 14 or 15) |
Weapon | Any weapon that can inflict Madness. Fire and Holy are also good, since Madness weapons are very rare. |
Relics and Talisman | HP Boost, Stamina Boost, Reduce Madness Buildup, Boost Resistances, Increase Damage of weapons. |
