Nintendo has added the classic Game Boy Advance RPG Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones to its Nintendo Switch Online service.
The 2004 entry was initially developed alongside the GameCube’s Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, which is also coming to the Switch Online service with the Switch 2. It was critically well received and was among the most successful games on the Game Boy Advance in its release year.
It joins other notable Game Boy Advance RPGs on the Switch Online service such as Golden Sun and its sequel The Lost Age, Fire Emblem The Blazing Blade, as well as Zelda games The Minish Cap, and A Link to the Past, which includes the Four Swords multiplayer quests.

Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones Switch Online Release Trailer
Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones takes place on the fictional continent of Magvel. The continent is divided into five nations, each built around a magical stone said to be linked to the imprisonment of an ancient demon. But when one of the five nations invades its neighbors and begins destroying the stones, Eirika and Ephraim, of the royal family of Renais, must build a team of allies and urn back the conquering threat, while also trying to uncover the reasons behind the war.
The gameplay is turn-based, featuring tactical unit movement across a grid-based battlefield. Core features of the game include permanent death for characters defeated in battle and support conversations that grant advantages to specific units in battle.
