Starward Industries has retitled its action adventure RPG Dante’s Ring as Into the Fire, and has shown off a new extended gameplay trailer of its volcano-set disaster epic.
Dubbed an anti-combat action adventure RPG, Into the Fire will have players braving the fury of nature as a first responder confronting volcanic demons on Dante’s Archipelago. Survival is the name of the game, as the volcano’s white hot rage threatens to cook players alive. Oh, and there’s the small matter of rescuing those trapped in the fiery hellscape using fire-suppressing tools at the first responder’s disposal.
The new extended gameplay trailer is an excellent showcase for the hot peril we’ll face. I have a soft spot for the Disaster Report series, and Into the Fire seems to evoke a similar vibe at times (albeit much more hardcore in terms of survival), so this game has gone straight onto my wishlist. Check out the Into the Fire trailer below. It’s sure to warm you up to uncomfortable levels.

While the game heavily relies on realistic depictions of natural disasters, it also mixes in some mythology because it’s apparently not enough to contend with an ever-changing volcanic disaster.
Starward Industries’ previous game was the atmospheric atompunk sci-fi adventure The Invincible, in which players had to unravel the mystery of a missing crew on the planet Regis III. A novel inspired that game, and the same is true for this game, as Starward Industries cites the works of Ryszard Kapuscinski as a significant influence.
Kapuscinski was a journalist, poet, photographer, and author who wrote journal-style stories that documented real-world places and people but layered in a creative element to paint a unique picture of them. Given that The Invincible was a human story set in front of a fantastic backdrop, Into the Fire’s concept perfectly matches Starward Industries’ established style.
Into the Fire is due to launch in Early Access on Steam in 2025.
