Neowiz Studios announced the long-awaited DLC for Lies Of P at the State of Play last night. Lies Of P: Overture releases in summer for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and while it is a DLC, it is also a prequel to the original game.
This is what director Jiwon Choi had to say while putting out the trailer:
As you might have guessed from the title, Lies of P: Overture takes you back in time to uncover the hidden stories of Krat. Do you remember the moment when you, as Geppetto’s most ambitious masterwork, woke up in the middle of the great Puppet Frenzy, a massacre that devastated the entire city around you? Now, you will venture back in time to experience the harrowing journey that birthed that fateful moment. Through Lies of P: Overture, we aimed to fully refine, forge and complete the story as we originally envisioned it.
Going by the trailer, everyone’s favorite puppet protagonist looks to have a brand new set of weapons to wreak havoc across Krat (we already have our eyes on the bow) and Fable Arts; while the bosses look that much more intimidating to take on. The story, and getting more of what led to the puppet frenzy that we see in the opening montage of Lies Of P, is what this prequel seems to be throwing light on. While the original Lies Of P had a cutscene that teased a continuation, the developers look to have done a neat twist in setting it up as a prequel.
Lies Of P was a big hit and deservedly so, with the game being favored by critics as well as the gaming community in general. The game sits at a Critic Score of 80 and User Score of 8.3 on Metacritic.
