UnknownX’s tabletop-inspired adventure RPG Marisa of Liartop Mountain is getting a Nintendo Switch version, and now has a release date for both Switch and PC.
Based on the bullet hell shoot ’em up series Touhou Project, Marisa of Liartop Mountain. It sees players’ choices and dice rolls as the character Reimu shape the path they take as they venture through a mysterious book in search of the titular Marisa.
Marisa of Liartop Mountain, the first in a series of Tabletop-style RPGs, will hit Steam and Switch on September 19, 2025. Check out the trailer below.
Marisa of Liartop Mountain Trailer Opens Up the Possibilities
The game is inspired by tabletop role-playing gamebooks and offers many choices. Every decision promises to spin into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, with changes to progression and play style along the way. The result is something akin to a mixture of analog and digital tabletop experiences. The developer is keen to capture the uncertainty and excitement of both.
The protagonist, Reimu, is joined by Remilia, Patchouli, Flandre, and Sakuya, who will offer up opinions on what the player should do next.
The 3D diorama style has definitely caught my eye, and if this offers anywhere near the amount of choice it says it does, it could be pretty engrossing. It could be a treat for SteamDeck and Switch players, too (that’s me too, then). This might be one to add to the list of RPGs to look forward to in 2025.
You can wishlist the game on Steam right now.
