The developers of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have released a PC hotfix (v1.202.0.0) to solve various issues, bugs related to the game. One of the more pressing ones has been trophies not unlocking for players even after completing the required criteria. This has been fixed now as per the developers, and in case you already have completed the requirements, updating the game with the patch, and then reloading your most recent save should now have the trophy pop up.
There were also issues on frame rates, as well as on using a Dualshock controller with Steam, where certain button prompts were either not appearing, or appearing incorrectly.
This is the second hotfix to be released for PC since the game was made available for the platform a week back on Jan 30th. The first patch was released the very next day of the launch – and was primarily for fixing issues like the game crashing when ray-tracing was enabled.
The full notes from the game page on Steam for the second hotfix are as below:
- Various crash fixes and stability improvements.
- Fixed a bug that could cause Achievements not being awarded on some configurations.
- Triangle and Square button prompts are now displayed correctly when using a DualShock 4 controller with Steam Input enabled.
- Resolved a frame rate related bug that could block players during the mission ‘Show Me New York’.
One way of looking at this is that the developers are constantly monitoring feedback and taking quick steps to resolve any issues that might stop the game from becoming the kind of hit it was for the studio when it launched on PS5. And there is reason for them to be on the ball, for the PC version of the game has not received the kind of universal acclaim that the PS5 version did.
The PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 currently sits at a 60.57% score on Steam with a peak Active Player Count of 28k over the first weekend since launch. Compare this with Miles Morales’s score of 91.48%, or that of Spider-Man Remastered of 94.48%, or with the PS5 Metacritic score of 90, and it is clear that Spider-Man 2 has not had the best of starts on PC.
