At the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, we got confirmation of one of gaming’s worse-kept secrets as Persona 4 Revival was announced.
Following the successful Persona 3 Re:Load remake that arrived last year, Atlus has gone back to the well and reimagined its breakthrough Persona title.
Check out the Persona 4 Revival announcement trailer to the beloved PS2 RPG reborn again (Persona 4 Golden being the first time, sort of).
Persona 4 Remake Trailer
Inaba—a quiet town in rural Japan sets the scene for budding adolescence in Persona 4 Revival.
It is a coming-of-age story that sets the protagonist and his friends on a journey kickstarted by a chain of serial murders. Explore meeting kindred spirits, feelings of belonging, and even confronting the darker aspects of oneself.
It first released on PlayStation 2 in June of 2008, well after the end of that console generation. However, it received a second chance on the PS Vita as Persona 4 Golden. Unfortunately, the world wasn’t ready for that beautiful handheld, so we had to wait until after the success of Persona 5 to get a port of Golden. Still pretty damn good, by the way.
In a statement from P-Studio, the developer, it was revealed more information would be coming in time. The studio wrote that it is hard at work on this project and will be tackling it with ”all our passion and love”. It also teased the fact it’s actively working on the future of the Persona series. We all know what that means…Persona 5 Cozy Crafting.
Persona 4 Revival will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will also launch on Xbox Game Pass.
