Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is an RPG based on the Arthurian Legend that takes players into a dark and gruesome world where dangers lurk in every corner. Here, you will have to make multiple difficult choices as the game takes you through a complex storyline where every decision matters.
However, you will also have to fight Legends, and unless you have a lot of experience in combat through other RPG titles, things can get rough. Fortunately, there’s a difficulty slider, and here’s a brief rundown of what you can choose to fine-tune your journey depending on your experience as a player.
All Difficulty Settings In Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon

There are a total of 5 difficulty settings in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, ranging from a mode for completely new players to a mode that is catered towards hardcore veterans.
Here’s a rundown of all the difficulty modes in the game:
- Story Focussed Mode: This is the easiest mode in the game, where combat is pretty much non-existent. You will focus on the story and explore the world, but enemies and bosses will be incredibly weak, with no challenge. This mode is meant for players who are new to gaming as a whole.
- Explorer: Explorer is the Easy mode of the game, where you get to enjoy a pretty relaxing combat, but you still have to take part in it, unlike the Story Mode. You will have a pretty forgiving journey with plenty of resources at your disposal.
- Adventurer: This is the balanced mode of the game, where enemies will start becoming challenging, and you will have to learn boss mechanics to clear them. However, you will also have enough resources at your disposal to make your journey smooth. Your mistakes will be punished, but you will recover from them.
- Veteran: This is the hard mode of the game, where you will face significant challenges, especially in terms of combat, as enemies will hit extremely hard. Your resources are also pretty limited here, which means every move needs to be with purpose. This mode is designed for highly experienced players.
- Survival Mode: This is the hardest mode in the game, where you need to finish everything in one life. If you die, the game will end, and you’ll have to start from the very beginning once again. Additionally, you only get to save at bonfires, and you sort of receive the Souls-like feel with this difficulty mode.
It’s also important to mention that even though Veteran difficulty feels hard, the difficulty primarily stems from the early game. You eventually scale up where the game becomes significantly easier. Even then, the early game will be challenging for new players if you go for the Veteran difficulty.
