Wemade Max and MADNGINE have announced the blockbuster open-world RPG TAL The Arcane Lands for PC and consoles. The release window for the game is currently set for 2027.
TAL The Arcane Lands is set in an original fantasy world greatly inspired by the Joseon Dynasty. In a world overrun by otherworldly creatures, the game’s protagonist and his companions will duke it out in real-time combat, strategically utilizing weapons, magic, and cooperation. The game looks to combine traditional Korean symbolism with fantasy elements to create a rich new RPG world with a distinct new backdrop.
TAL The Arcane Lands: Detaisl on the Korean Action RPG
The TAL of the title refers to a traditional Korean mask and it also alludes to a journey of transformation and awakening to escape a predetermined fate and an oppressed world. Heavy stuff, then!
From the little we know about it from a post on Inven, it appears to be taking us down an increasingly familiar action RPG route, but as always, a new thematic flavor is a refreshing tweak on a winning formula, so we look forward to seeing more from TAL The Arcane Lands in the next couple of years before its release. The game will run on Unreal Engine 5, so it’s got a high chance of looking as good as the screenshot shown.
The game comes from the creators of the free-to-play action game Night Crows, which is a tad keen on NFTs and a blockchain economy(remember those?), but let’s not hold that against TAL The Arcane Lands just yet.
