Bethesda has finally confirmed the existence of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered with an announcement stating that it will be revealed at 8 AM PT tomorrow.
The reveal will be broadcast on Twitch and YouTube, according to the accompanying image, which shows the Roman numeral for four in front of a close-up of a helmeted figure not too dissimilar from one shown in the leaked title art last week.
Developed by Bethesda Dallas and Bethesda Rockville, alongside Metal Gear Solid Delta developers Virtuos, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been created using Unreal Engine 5. It improves on various aspects of the original to bring it up to date mechanically and visually.
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered Announcement Nears

It was only last week reports surfaced that the remaster would be coming this week, and those were later backed by leaked images from Virtuos’ website, showing he game in comparison with the original. It had been one of gaming’s worst kept surprises for some time thanks to plenty of reporting.
How good this turned out to be is something we’ll all have to figure out for ourselves. Hopefully, it finds a way to keep the charm and wonder of the original version while making it a bit more pleasant to play. The original is perfectly fine, despite its age, but I won’t say no to a snazzy new version (probably something Bethesda know quite well thanks to all those Skyrim purchases I’ve made).
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered is expected to be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
