CD Projekt Red has showcased The Witcher 4 technical demo, offering us our first real glimpse of the game running on PS5.
The footage appeared as part of the State of Unreal presentation, revealing what is possible with the power of Unreal Engine 5.7. The footage is reportedly running on a base PS5 with ray tracing at 60fps. The technical demo showcases improvements to cloth and physics (Chaos), plus nanite foliage is viable thanks to Nanite. Elsewhere, muscle deformation and Metahuman were showcased. Frankly, it all looks stunning already, even in this raw form.

The Witcher 4 sees Ciri take over as protagonist from Geralt of Rivia in a brand-new adventure.
The Witcher 3 was a breakout smash for CD Projekt Red and recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. The game saw players slip into the chainmail of Geralt of Rivia, a mercenary monster slayer. Before Geralt stands a war-torn, monster-infested continent. His current contract? Tracking down Ciri — the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world.
The game achieved a 93-average score on PC and ultimately became one of a clutch of great RPGs from 2015, alongside Bloodborne and Undertale.
The Polish developer has also released Cyberpunk 2077 in the interim and had to deal with a rollercoaster ride from a horrendous launch to a successful reinvention.
