System Shock 2 Remastered features both puzzle-solving as well as surviving in a complicated world, which means you have to be geared at all times. This includes collecting resources, materials, items, and weapons that will help you survive in your journey.

One such resource you will come across in the game is called Nanites, and these are extremely important. As such, if you have never played System Shock 2, this material will be unknown to you, and here’s a discussion on what it is and how you can use it in the game.

What are Nanites in System Shock 2 Remastered

Nanites in their simplest form will be your primary currency in System Shock 2 Remastered. You’ll find Nanites scattered all across the world, which could include bodies, containers, and properties of other people.

You’ll need a large stock of Nanites as everything you do in the game requires this material, and your success and failure at survival will often depend on how much you have in stock. This is especially true if you’re playing on Hard or Impossible difficulty, where the value of items is increased massively.

Additionally, you must also remember that you cannot recycle or research this material, which means you’ll have to use it wisely.

How to use Nanites in System Shock 2 Remastered

Using Nanites is pretty simple, as you can simply go to vending machines and purchase items as long as you have enough Nanites at your disposal. However, this is one of the simplest uses, as the material also has other important uses.

One of them is that you can use Nanite in hacking, weapon modification, and repairs, which are key activities for your survival. In fact, hacking is where Nanites become valuable, since if you fail once, you’ll need this material to retry, and this activity will make a lot of tasks in the game easier for you.

Additionally, you will also need Nanites to gain access to certain areas across the world.
