Seregios is a returning monster who was added to Monster Hunter Wilds alongside the June 30 Title Update 2. This is a Flying Wyvern that is known for its aggressive moves and blade-like sharp scales that can catch even the most veteran hunters off guard.
It’s an extreme fun and engaging fight that not only franchise veterans will enjoy, but also new players who have never tried the monster in the previous games. If you’re interested in fighting Seregios, here’s a guide that will cover all the necessary information in detail.
How to unlock Seregios in Monster Hunter Wilds

In order to unlock Seregios, you will have to complete the main quest A World Turned Upside Down and reach Hunter Rank 31. Upon meeting both these conditions, the Extra Mission 3 will be triggered, which you can find in your Mission Info.
You’ll have to visit Kunafa village and speak to an NPC. They will guide you to a location, where you’ll first notice Seregios, who will pick up a Seikret and fly away. You will then jump down and draw the monster’s attention, and the mission, Wings That Rend The Sky, will officially commence.
Upon defeating Seregios, the Optional Quest, 1,000 Shimmering Swords will be unlocked, and you’ll be able to fight the monster anytime you want.
Make sure to leave Kunafa village and teleport back again, in case the original mission to defeat Seregios does not trigger, despite meeting the objectives.
Seregios Strengths and Weaknesses in Monster Hunter Wilds

Here are the strengths and weaknesses of Seregios in Monster Hunter Wilds:
Weak Points | Resistant Points | Element/Ailment Weakness | Element/Ailment Strengths | Best Weapon Damage |
---|---|---|---|---|
Head (Breakable) | Neck | Ice | Fire | Slash |
Wings (Breakable) | Torso | Thunder | Bulgeoning | |
Tail (Severable) | Pierce | |||
Legs (Breakable) |
Seregios is very weak to Ice, and if you bring this element, the fight becomes quite easy. Thunder is also pretty effective, but Ice works the best. Fire doesn’t work against the monster, so don’t even worry about the element.
Most of its body is breakable, and that will reduce the overall strength of the monster significantly. However, Slash and Pierce weapons are the best here, since Bulgeoning weapons are slow, and since Seregios flies around a lot, you’ll find it hard to land a good hit.
Additionally, it can also inflict Bleeding on the hunter, so make sure to bring Wild Jerky with you to deal with the status effect.

Best Equipment to fight Seregios in Monster Hunter Wilds

Weapons | Armor |
---|---|
Artian Long Sword (Ice) | Gore Magala Armor |
Griefbringer Urstox | Arkveld Armor |
The best equipment to use in the fight against Seregios is the Ice Artian Long Sword, since its easy to craft and also comes with three level 3 Jewel slots. If you don’t want to use the Artian weapon, you should use the Windclaw Kiribami, which is the Hirabami Long Sword.
I used the Griefbringer Urstox with a Dragon Piercer build, and that worked exceptionally well. The best thing about using a Bow in this fight is that you can keep up the DPS, even when the monster is in the air.
When it comes to armor, a mix of Gore Magala and Arkveld Gear is still the best. You receive a lot of Affinity, which in turn helps enhance your damage output against monsters.
Seregios Fight Breakdown and Moves

Seregios is an extremely aggressive monster that will challenge you in every possible way. One of the key points of attraction about the monster is the spikes on its body. The monster will shoot these spikes at the player, and if you get hit by them, you’ll get afflicted by Bleeding.
Seregios will also fly up in the air and perform a sideways attack towards the hunter. You’ll have to dodge it or block it, depending on the weapon you might be using. Apart from that, the monster will rise up in the air and crash down upon the hunter.
If you get hit by it, you’ll die instantly, irrespective of how much health you might have had. As such, it’s better to get on your Seikret and run away the moment you see Seregios fly.
You can both capture or kill the monster, depending on what you prefer, though the former always makes the run a lot faster compared to the latter.
