Phainon is a powerful Physical Destruction DPS unit in Honkai: Star Rail who can single-handedly deal with multiple enemies and bosses. His damage output is enormous and has a unique playstyle with a massive presence on the story of Amphoreus.
As such, several players want him, but despite his strengths, you’ll need a team to make him function optimally. Here are all the teams that you should be going for when playing with Phainon in the game.

This is the perfect team for Phainon, since all the characters here can place their buffs on him, which in turn helps with the Coreflame stacks. As expected, Phainon is the main DPS here who will simply wait for the buffs until he can activate his ultimate ability.
Sunday provides Crit buffs to Phainon, both of which massively enhance the latter’s damage. Bronya also functions in a similar fashion, where she will provide Crit buffs to Phainon.
Finally, Huohuo is the primary healer for the team, but she can also provide ATK buffs. The buff is massive since it directly boosts Phainon’s damage output, with ATK being the second most important stat after Crit.

This is a sustainless team that will work in most scenarios, provided your Phainon is built properly. You’ll receive buffs from three sources here, which include Sunday, Tingyun, and Bronya.
In addition to his own Skill ability, you’ll be able to generate Coreflame stacks very quickly. This will mean that Phainon will trigger his Ultimate more often, thereby making it easy to clear stages.
However, when he isn’t in the Ultimate phase, the entire team will be vulnerable due to the lack of sustain. Additionally, you’ll need to make sure every character has sufficient energy so that they can buff up Phainon, as you would want to stay in the Ultimate state as much as possible.

Lynx will keep the party alive while cleansing everyone, which also helps with the Coreflame stacks. However, Phainon is the one who will have to do a lot of heavy lifting in this team, as you must build him well enough so that he can carry you through difficult fights with his personal damage.
