FromSoftware has released an Elden Ring Nightreign Overview trailer ahead of the game’s launch at the end of the month.
The ten-minute Elden Ring Nightreign video explains the quite different gameplay setup of Nightreign to the regular Elden Ring. It goes into the mechanics, the character classes, and some of the new nasties you’ll battle against whilst teaming up with others to take down the Nightlords.

In Elden Ring Nightreign, players must make split-second decisions about combat and exploration across a map that can vary with different biomes, weapons, and enemies. In doing so, they’ll become stronger, and outrun the encroaching circle of fire, before readying to take on terrifying bosses at the end of each day. On the third and final day of the run, if players successfully survived the night, they must take on one of the Nightlords. Nightfarers must learn to cooperate to take down these challenges, combining their unique abilities for a fresh adventure in the world of Elden Ring.
Unsuccessful runs, are not without gains. The rewards of every run will grant players relics to allow them to customize and upgrade their characters tailored to their personal play styles, and better prepare for the next fight.
Elden Ring Nightreign will be released on May 30, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
