CD Projekt Red has celebrated The Witcher 3’s 10th anniversary with a trailer that thanks players for helping the game achieve its massive success.

The sub-3-minute The Witcher 3 10th anniversary trailer showcased some of the iconic RPG’s highlights, culminating in Geralt saying, ‘It’s just the beginning’ and a message to players, ‘Thank you for 10 years of killing monsters.’

Check out the trailer below and get all misty-eyed and/or tempted to start another playthrough.

Here’s what CD Projekt Red had to say in the trailer description,

”Celebrate 10 years of killing monsters and forging unforgettable memories! It’s been a decade since players first stepped into Geralt’s boots and began their search for Ciri — discovering all the choices, adventures, and stories that followed. Thank you for walking this Path with us. You made The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt the legendary journey it is today.”

The Witcher 3 was released on May 18, 2015, and ended up being one of the highest-scored games of that year (93 Metacritic score for PC). It competed with other RPG smashes of that year, such as Bloodborne, Pillars of Eternity, Divinity Original Sin, Undertale, and, to a lesser extent, critically speaking, Fallout 4. The game’s success propelled CD Projekt Red into the stratosphere, and subsequent expansions for The Witcher 3 only solidified its position.

It would follow up that success with the much-hyped Cyberpunk 2077. After a horrendous launch, CD Projekt Red went on to fix the game, release a lauded expansion, and reverse much of the criticism aimed at the game. It is currently working on The Witcher 4 with Ciri installed as the main protagonist.

In The Witcher 3, players slip into the chainmail of Geralt of Rivia, a mercenary monster slayer. Before Geralt stands a war-torn, monster-infested continent. His current contract? Tracking down Ciri — the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
