Dragon Is Dead is a roguelike action RPG where you have to survive with just one life in hand while dealing with a variety of monsters and powerful bosses. This means loot is everything, so that you can become strong enough to defeat the enemies before your run comes to an end.

Most of this loot can be found by defeating bosses and opening chests, including a special one called Ruby Chests. Here’s a detailed note on what exactly a Ruby Chest is and how you can find one in the game.

Dragon Is Dead: What Is A Ruby Chest?

Ruby Chest in Dragon Is Dead

Ruby Chests are special chests in Dragon Is Dead that drop Goods, Gears, and Potions. These Ruby Chests open with a Ruby Key, which can be found while exploring and defeating enemies.

Ruby Keys sometimes drop from the big chest that you receive upon completing the area, while other times they drop from bosses. However, the drop seems to be random so far, and it needs to be tested further.

The loot from the Ruby Chests can vary from being very good to completely useless. However, there is a better than average chance of receiving powerful weapons that will be better than what you are currently equipped with.

While Ruby Chests are present in every area that you come across during your run, chances are that they will not be placed in obvious places, and instead, will require you to look around a bit. Sometimes they are placed on top of the platforms, while at other times at the very bottom. If you end up getting a Ruby Key, make sure to unlock the Chest to collect its loot.

This is because the game gets harder as you progress, so improving your equipment is crucial for success. Check our guide on tips that will help you complete your runs in Dragon is Dead successfully.
