Mistfall Hunter is a pretty dense game, especially if you aren’t all that well-versed in ARPGs or extraction titles. With lots of systems to get your head around, it’s best to stick to the basics. For example, how to extract and get all your goodies back to camp.
You would think it would be as simple as going to an extraction point and leaving the map, but it’s not always that simple.
Here is a breakdown of how extraction works in Mistfall Hunter, and all the different ways that you can go about it.
How To Extract In Mistfall Hunter

So, to extract in Mistfall Hunter, you have to follow a set of rather convoluted steps. Steps that put your escape in jeopardy.
Here is a quick breakdown of the steps needed to do a basic extraction in Mistfall Hunter.
- Open your map and mark a Returning Chime. Then make your way to this spot on the map.
- Trigger the returning bell and then follow the blue butterflies to the location marked on the ground. You will need to wait 30 seconds for this to take effect.
- After this timer runs out, a Woodling will appear. This is an enemy that must be defeated.
- Once this enemy is defeated, you will need to hold down the action button to trigger your bell. This will sound off a loud chime that may attract unwanted attention.
- After you ring your bell, you then have two minutes to trigger the returning tree, and upon doing so, you will be transported back to camp.
How To Do A Smugger’s Extraction

Sometimes things go wrong when you’re out there among the Gyldenmist, and there is no shame in trying to break even rather than losing everything you have. This is exactly what the smuggler’s extraction method is for.
You have the option to get specific items out of there and back to camp without needing to extract yourself. There are Smuggler Woodlings that appear about midway through a match that will happily take your Gyldenblood as payment to extract specific items. This charge will vary depending on what you’re sending out. But if you don’t want to gamble on getting out alive with a rare item, this service can really come in handy.
But bear in mind that you also have access to a pouch that allows you to return to camp with at least one item safely. Perhaps even more if you have an upgraded pouch.
Tips To Extract Safely

Knowing how these systems work is one thing, but actually getting out without someone or something spoiling your exit strategy is another. So, to help you get out with all your loot intact, here are some helpful tips to bear in mind:
- Be aware of your surroundings. Before ringing the Returning Chime, look around to see if there are any players or monsters nearby. Do the same at the Woodling Summon Spot.
- Remember that the bell is loud and will attract other players. Monsters will largely ignore you unless you’re up close and personal. But ringing the bell will see real players converge on your position. So, hiding and picking your moment isn’t the worst option.
- Consider the period when you extract, as there is a peak time when everyone wants to get out. When the Returning Chimes become available and late in the round, when almost everyone is gone, are the best times to get out; otherwise, you’ll almost always need to win a skirmish to get out.
- Another option is to let someone else do the legwork for you. Hang around the Returning Chime, and wait for someone to go through the steps. Then, just as they kill the Woodling, that’s your opportune time to strike.
