System Shock 2 Remastered is an RPG, which means everything you do is tied to skills that enhance your overall abilities. One such set of skills that you can find in the game is the Statistics skills, which, as the name suggests, affect your attributes.

These attributes are crucial since they are the primary foundation for how your character performs. If you get them wrong, especially in higher difficulty, you’ll have trouble navigating through the game. Here are all the statistics skills you will find in System Shock 2 Remastered.

There are a total of five Statistics skills that you can upgrade in the game, namely Strength, Endurance, Psionics, Agility, and Cyber. A description for each of them and how they affect you has been provided below:

    Strength

This is the most essential stat that you can level up, especially if you’re a new player trying the game for the first time. This stat affects your inventory capacity, the amount of damage that you can inflict, and weapon requirements. Some of the armor in the game also has a specific Strength requirement that you have to meet before using it.

If you’re too confused about what to level up, you’ll never go wrong with Strength, especially when playing in Easy or Normal difficulty, where you can brute force through the game.

    Endurance

Endurance is also a very important stat as it determines your maximum hit points, or in other words, your health. This means that if you level up your Endurance, your survivability goes up massively. However, while it sounds amazing, you won’t need it as much, since you receive an abundance of healing items, which makes surviving pretty easy.

The reason why Endurance becomes valuable is that you also receive resistance against Toxins and Radiation. While you can go away with a variety of cures that are available in the game, increasing your resistance doesn’t hurt, especially when playing in higher difficulty levels.

    Psionics

This skill affects three major stats, namely, Psi points, Psi power damage, and duration. This is a very specific skill and only valuable for players who are going for a build involving the usage of Psi weapons, as you will be able to deal high damage for a longer duration.

This stat, along with Strength, is crucial for all Psi builds, but you can completely ignore it if you are going for standard builds that involve using traditional weapons.

    Agility

Agility is a stat that benefits your movement speed, reduces fall damage, and also reduces weapon kickback. This is the least useful stat that you can go for in the game since there are ways through which you can bypass the areas it covers.

For instance, you can use Speed Boosters or Implants to deal with movement problems, or you can unlock certain Psi Powers that reduce weapon kickback to zero, if you’re having a problem with it. There’s no need to waste Cyber Modules on this, especially in higher difficulties, where every point matters.

    Cyber

This is the skill that makes Hacking, Repair, and Modify skills easy to use, and it is arguably the second most important skill after Strength. It also reduces the number of ICE Nodes, which reduces the chances of critical failure when trying to hack vending machines, crates, cameras, or turrets.

Regardless of whether you use Tech skills or not, this is the stat that you should consider leveling up as it will help you massively in the latter stages of the game.
