Being a gamer can be an expensive hobby, which is why many of us wait for the next Steam sale before investing in some of our favorite RPGs. While it used to be that Steam sales would just creep up on us, these days, we get a little more notice, letting us save in advance and bulk up our Steam libraries.
While we get treated to plenty of Steam sales throughout the year, such as the Medieval Fest, which just recently ended, or the Deckbuilders Fest, which started today and runs for a week, it’s the major Steam sales that really offer some of the most exciting bargains.
The Steam Summer Sale
Between Steam’s themed sales, there are four major sales every year, which are:
- Steam Spring Sale
- Steam Summer Sale
- Steam Autumn Sale
- Steam Winter Sale
The next Steam sale coming up is the Steam Summer Sale, which is now in full swing and will be running until July 9, 2026.
which always offers an exciting range of games at temptingly reduced prices. Both the Summer and Winter Sales tend to last around two weeks, as opposed to the Spring and Autumn, which only last for a week.
The Major Steam sales, such as the Steam Summer Sale, tend to offer much bigger discounts than the smaller sales, making it worthwhile to be patient and wait for the next Major sale. It’s not only a great time to pick up some of the best triple-A titles around, but also to find some Indie gems too.
Steam Next Fest
They might not be sales, but it’s also always worth taking note of when the next Steam Next Fest is due, as I’ve found these to be a great way to learn about, and even experience some of the best upcoming games, without needing to worry about splashing out on them.
The next Steam Next Fest will run from October 19 to October 26, where hundreds of game demos for upcoming games will be released, giving us a chance to try them out, for free, before they are released.
Steam runs three Next Fest events every year, which are usually hosted in February, June, and October.
