Fatekeeper is finally available in Early Access on Steam, but before you go splashing your hard-earned cash on the newly released early-access RPG, you’ll want to make sure that you check the Fatekeeper system requirements to be sure your computer can run it properly.
The game actually has some surprisingly demanding specs, especially for an Early Access release, with the minimum requirements asking for an RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT.

Fatekeeper System Requirements
Fatekeeper Minimum System Requirements
If you want to at least be able to run Fatekeeper and aren’t too worried about what it’ll look like, you will need to make sure that you at least hit the minimum Fatekeeper system requirements, or you could find yourself with terrible performance issues, making the game unplayable.
Minimum Required Specs:
- OS: Windows 10 or 11 x64
- Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- Memory: 16GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT with 8GB VRAM
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 20GB available space
These aren’t particularly light requirements, and with Fatekeeper still in early access, and more updates, content drops, and patches coming soon, there’s a chance the bar for entry might rise again at some point.
Fatekeeper Recommended Specs
So, usually when a game releases its recommended specs, we tend to see something completely different from the minimum specs; however, that’s not at all the case with Fatekeeper, with there being a single difference between the Fatekeeper minimum required specs and recommended, the RAM.
Recommended Specs:
- OS: Windows 10 or 11 x64
- Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- Memory: 32GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT with 8GB VRAM
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 20GB available space
This could mean that Fatekeeper is more demanding than we might have thought; however, as patches and optimizations come out, it might widen the gap between the minimum and recommended Fatekeeper system requirements.
Can My PC Run Fatekeeper?
If your PC matches the Fatekeeper system requirements, you should be fine with Fatekeeper. That means you’ll want something around an Intel Core i7-10700K or Ryzen 5 3600X, 16GB of RAM, and either an RTX 3070 or RX 6800 XT.
The awkward bit is that those “minimum” specs are not exactly low. They are pretty demanding, especially for an Early Access game. So if you are on an older card, like a GTX 1060, GTX 1660, RTX 2060, or a weaker laptop GPU, I wouldn’t expect everything to run perfectly. It might launch, but smooth performance is another question.
Fatekeeper is still in Early Access, too, so this could change over time. Future updates may improve performance, and the requirements might make more sense later on. For now, though, the official specs suggest the game is really built with newer gaming PCs in mind, rather than older rigs or budget laptops.
Are Fatekeeper’s Hardware Requirements Demanding?
Honestly, Fatekeeper looks pretty heavy for what it is right now.
The GPU requirement is the bit that jumps out. An RTX 3070 or RX 6800 XT as the minimum? That isn’t exactly friendly to older PCs, especially for a game that has only just launched in Early Access, so don’t expect it to run well if you’re playing on a potato PC. The CPU side isn’t too bad if you have upgraded in the last few years, but 32GB of RAM on the recommended specs is still more than a lot of people will have.
The strange thing is how little changes between minimum and recommended. It could just be the developers being careful with the specs, but it also makes me wonder if Fatekeeper still needs a bit more optimisation before it feels comfortable on a wider range of PCs.
